Need 110V lower controller board for Nautilus EV718
#1
Like everyone else who owns this model, I need to get a hold of the discontinued 110V lower controller board. It looks like this:
http://www.fitnessrepairparts.com/cart/V...m/24000585

Nautilus no longer even has a part number for it (after thirty minutes on the phone with them), and it is not listed in the parts diagram for the machine. I have been able to confirm with Nautilus that is it NOT part 000-3622.

Anyone have a new or used or refurbished on lying around? Everyone I've talked to has recommending junking or parting out that machine, but from what I can tell, the only part anyone is looking for is this one.

Thanks,

-Brian

Hey Brian,
I don't know if I'm too late with this response, but there is hope!!! It took me about a half hour to take that particular section apart and test the fuses. After I determined it was the control board (because only the red led came on and the other 2 leds didn't), I was told by various companies to junk my machine, part it out, or they would charge me to to come pick it up and get rid of it for me. Nautilus doesn't make the Lower Control Board anymore and had a heck of a time even finding the part number for it.
Well one place in the town I live in suggested sending the board to J&R Technical Services Inc. (www.jandrtechnicalservices.com) in Florida. He said that's where they send their electronics that had to be fixed down to component level. I called, talked to Jack (who was very nice) and he said they have worked on over 78 of these same boards so they were very familiar with them. He gave me a reference number and told me to send it in.
It took less than a week after they received the board to send it back to me. I got it back today, put the board back in my elliptical and it worked perfectly!!! The price varies they said depending of the problem. There was a standard bench fee which is applied towards the total price and a 90 day warrantee. I am totally satisfied so far ( I know it's only been a day) because my price was comparable to buying a brand new board (if I could have found one). Pretty fair I think for a once over $3500 machine. I hope this helps you out. Good luck. It took longer for me to find someone to repair the board than it did to get it repaired. Now I guess I gotta use my elliptical after all the trouble I went thru to get it repaired. lol

Thank you. I did find someone in Colorado who claimed to be able to repair it. He charged me $300, kept it for two months, and then returned it to me still not working. Maybe I'll give your guy a try.

Wow, sorry to hear about the Colorado reaming.... So far mine is still working fine. The cost was around half your price. .. Hopefully the Colorado guy didn't do more damage to your board. I'm telling you JandR did a great job and a very quick turn around. I told Jack I was gonna mention them on this board because he knew what he was doing.
Now I have it plugged into a heavy duty surge protector to turn on and off ( since there is no On/Off swtch on the machine). I don't know if a voltage spike damaged the board or if they are just faulty since there seems to be problems with them.
Like I said earlier, much easier than parting out or junking a $3500 piece of equipment. Good luck!!!!
