Nautilus 3000 Elliptical Crank Arm
#1
I'm looking for a replacement crank arm (RIGHT side) for my Nautilus 3000 Elliptical trainer. I've checked several websites and they all list it as no longer available. Please let me know if you know where I can get one. Thanks!

Contact Nautilus 800-331-3578, if you haven't already. That screw at the top was breaking regularly and was a common problem. Unless they are no longer producing this part, they should still have it or be able to point you in the right direction. I see that fitness repair parts no longer has them which surprises me. If you still come up empty then let me know and I will do my best to dig a little deeper. Hope you find it. If you do, make sure you add lubrication to that screw, which is nautilus' solution to a bad design.

Thanks for the tip! I'll call them today.
You pegged it with the bolt. It snapped off, which I assumed was a complete anomoly but it sounds as though it wasn't properly engineered. Thanks again.

Atpands,

After phone calls and emails to three different Nautilus part subsidiaries, I got nowhere...each call or email sent me to someone else and the last guy at Nautilus International said the part is no longer available and he had no further suggestions.

Do you have any other thoughts on where I might find this crank arm for the elliptical?

Best regards,

Plau

Huh. I have ordered these in the past. It's probably been about a year. I will check and get back with you. Give me a couple of days to see what I can find.

Atpands,
Thanks a lot for checking!
I'm really puzzled that they make it so hard to fix something like this. It erodes brand loyalty.
Anyway, please let me know if you make better progress than I did.
Best regards,
Plau

Hi, I am having the exact same problem. I need the left crank arm assembly.
The elliptical E916 lists a part that looks similar to the pivot weldment that sheared on mine but no one at Nautilus can tell me if it will swap out.
I can have a machinist press it back onto the assembly if need be as I was able yo get the broken one off.
Thanks

This is a conundrum
We are having this problem as well. I've sourced the part in Mexico from quick – fitness.net.
Re-machining these parts should be easy because there are tap holes at both sides of the tube.

Gyozajoe,

I sent the photo that you posted to Nautilus and asked if the E916 part would work on the 3000. They got back to me quickly, but unfotunately with bad news:

"Unfortunately the dimensions are all wrong.
The e916 is a full commercial Eliptical. Everything is a bit bigger.
Kind regards,

Thanks so much for your follow up. To the machine shop we go I guess.

Hello Atpands or anyone else who might be able to help...

I have run out of options to pursue regarding a replacement crank arm. I hate to see my elliptical scrapped not only because of the cost of the original and cost to replace it but also I hate putting more stuff in the land fill.

Any last thoughts on how I might get a new or used replacement part??

Thanks!

I have gone back to my original purchases of this part. They no longer sell that part. It was a bad design and they were having to replace it over and over. Didn't make sense for them to sell it, or offer it any longer. Sorry, that is all I have.

Your best bet may be to post in buy/sell and you might come across someone parting it out.

Hi all, Not sure what your specific issue is but mine was the screw and nut sheared on the pivot bearing. As I write this the pivot bearing is being repaired by boring out the sheared part and welding in a new part. Because I pounded the bearing off of the crank arm I also took that to them - I also bought 2 new bearings. As long as its apart might as well put new parts in now. Than they will press the part back onto the arm and that's it. Any decent machine shop should be able to do the work. I can't see dumping the whole machine either.
Hope this gives you some hope.
