Looking for a Part - Fuglaarb - 09-14-2009 Hello, I have been directed here from Fitness Repair Parts. I am looking for what I have identified as my problem part (I hope). I own an Ironman 230e Elliptical Trainer. Recently I was having issues with the machine powering on. I have checked the batteries, and they are all good. I also checked the control board with a voltmeter, and all capacitors and PCB line look good. I disassembled the machine, and found what I think is the problem. Attached to the Mag Brake, there is a device similar to a bicycle speedometer. The point that it passes seems to indicate to the unit that there is motion, and it is time to turn on. The part that I am looking for is called the "REED SWIT©H WIRE W/SENSOR" All of the equipment names and terminology were taken from the following website: http://www.fitnessrepairparts.com/diagram/9697 I am looking for this part, or a comparable one to use as a replacement. I know that there are better and cheaper models, but this thing works perfectly aside form this part. Also I can afford to repair not replace. Brad F. Re: Looking for a Part - Fuglaarb - 09-23-2009 Update: I contacted a local Fitness equipment repair company, and they indicated that any reed switch should work. The only thing that should need to be done is to splice it into the wire that I currently have attached to my main unit. I am not sure on the link posting policy on this forum, but they suggested the following to places to look for parts: http://www.mouser.com (Electronic Component Distributer) or http://www.iconfitness.com/ Hope this helps anyone else looking for obscure parts!
