The Ajay Trimline exercise bike belt that broke is 1/4” on the top … and also 1/4” on both sides that make contact with the walls of the pulley wheels … making the belt an exact v-shape. The length of the broken belt is 39.75” laying flat. The original belt was nylon and of a yellowish color. The original belt must have had a bit of stretch because when I wrapped the broken belt back onto the pulleys wheels there was a gap of about 1” and it required some real effort on my part to pull the ends together to meet.
The bike has a a “Svc # 418-05” printed on it.
We have tried everything from industrial sewing machine belts to automotive belts but the narrowest width was 3/8” and none of the belts we found were a true v-shape, they were all flat on the bottom.
My 84-year old Dad has logged over 10,000 miles on this bike and he really is insistent that he does not want to get a new bike … too many electronics.
