The 2016 World Cup of Hockey is still a little over a year away, but national federations are Connor Brown Women Jersey already making their plans for their teams. Hockey Canada kicked things off by announcing Monday that general manager Doug Armstrong will serve in that same role for Team Canada. His management team will also including GM Bob Murray, GM Marc Bergevin, GM Ken Holland and a sistant general manager Rob Blake. Hockey Canada's Scott Salmond will also be part of the management team.Heading into his sixth season as general manager of the St. Louis Blues, Travis Dermott Jersey Armstrong has a lot of experience on the management team for Canada. He was the a sistant general manager to Steve Yzerman on each of the last two Canadian Olympic teams that won gold. He also was the GM for Canadas mens national team for the 2009 IIHF World Championship.The 2011-12 GM of the Year, Armstrongs front-office history is lengthy. He started with the Minnesota North in 1992-93 and moved with the team when it relocated to Dallas. He was the a sistant GM of the 1999 Stanley Cup team and took over GM duties for the club partway through the 2001-02 season. He served in that role for parts of six seasons before being dismi sed. He joined the Blues in 2008-09 as director of player personnel before being elevated Bobby Baun Kids Jersey to GM in 2010. Its not terribly surprising to see, but Yzerman does not appear to be involved with the team in anyway despite his being the architect of the last two Olympic champions. Hell probably be a good sounding board for Armstrong, however. As will the rest of the World Cup management team.Holland has been closely involved with each of the last two Olympic teams as an a sistant GM. Blake brings a lot of experience to the table as a frequent representative of Canada as a player. He also was the GM of Canadas world championship team in 2014. Bergevin played in one Curtis Mcelhinney Men Jersey world championship as a player, but this will be his first shot at serving in this capacity on a national team. Murray has a robust management resume, which includes winning the GM of Nicholas Robertson Women Jersey the Year award last season. He's a finalist again this year after building the Ducks into a three-time Pacific Division champion. The World Cup of Hockey will feature eight teams including Canada, the United States, Sweden, Finland, Ru sia and the Czech Republic, as well as two all-star teams one featuring players from the rest of Europe and the other featuring top players under the age of 23 from North America. The event is slated to run through September 2016.
